Ursula Rucker believes that art and poetry are catalysts for change. Her mission and calling is to heal herself, the planet, and its people through her art. While she sees the world as her community, she pays particular attention to the world of women, indigeneous/diaporic peoples, and sufferers of injustice.

Ursula Rucker is an award-winning Philadelphia-born poet, mother, activist, and recording artist dedicated to social change, freedom fighting, truth-telling, and peace. Ursula has released five solo albums, recorded with internationally-known artists including King Britt and The Roots, and just completed her first book, Drown the Devil, a collaboration with Pulitzer prize-winning photojournalist, Clarence Williams.
