Tap into the Berkshire Creative Community
through the Berkshire Festival of Women Writers

The Berkshire Festival of Women Writers (BFWW) showcases women writers of all ages and many walks of life in the Berkshire region, through workshops, readings, performances, and other events throughout the year.

We engage in local, regional and national publicity outreach, including print, radio, local TV and digital media formats, depending on the scope of each event.

The Festival email list currently exceeds 2,600 opt-in subscribers, and is constantly growing. E-newsletters are sent bi-weekly and sometimes more often for special events.

BFWW promotes daily on social media platforms, including paid ads.

BFWW advertises regularly in Berkshire Edge, Berkshire Magazine, the Artful Mind, Rural Intelligence and other key local media.

We send regular press releases and post to the online calendars of more than 100 print and online media sources which target audiences that meet our demographic, primarily women interested in educational and cultural programming, and women active in the creative arts.

The 2016 March Festival will be held March 12 – 20 with 9 days filled with workshops, readings, performances and other related events, held at venues across Berkshire County.

During the March 2015 Festival more than 2000 people enjoyed our events, approximately two-thirds from the Berkshire region, and the rest made up of audience members who traveled to the Festival from as far away as Florida and Texas.

The March 2016 Festival promotion will begin in early November and build up until we go full on in January and February, including news articles, magazine features, blog interviews, radio interviews, etc.

Beginning in February, 5,000 copies of the glossy full-color Festival Program/Literary Magazine, including creative writing, interviews and essays by Berkshire women writers, will be circulated throughout the Berkshire region, including the shoulder areas of VT, CT and NY.

Since its founding in 2011, the Berkshire Festival of Women Writers has often been featured in various online and print publications, some of which can be viewed on our press page, here. We are making a concerted effort in 2016 to engage more regional coverage, particularly in New York City and Boston.
