Women’s Shorts: Four Plays
April 9 @ 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm| $10
WOMEN’S SHORTS is an annual production of short plays by women playwrights & performers at Berkshire Community College in Pittsfield on April 7-9, 2017.
This year’s featured performers are playwright & actor Anne Undeland, playwright Jane Denitz Smith, filmmaker & playwright Cindy Parrish, and playwright & actor Maizy Broderick Scarpa.
In partnership with Berkshire Community College, select BCC students will write and/or perform short pieces accompanied by music & movement, and student theater technicians will work with the professional writer/performers.
Two years ago, WOMEN’S SHORTS was founded and directed by Yvette “Jamuna” Sirker upon the urging of Ghazi Kazmi of The Whitney Center for the Arts, as a celebration of theater and dance created by a racially and ethnically diverse mix of female multidisciplinary artists. The project debuted with tremendous success at The Whitney Center for the Arts as part of the Pittsfield 10 X 10 Festival.
As a co-sponsor, the Berkshire Festival of Women Writers will receive a portion of the box office from the Sunday matinee performance.
