Hannah, you are a wonderful leader and we, as a writing community are fortunate to know you. Thank you for offering this inspired gathering of women poets. And thank you to Orion for steadfastly publishing women's writing. I am continually elevated by the writing in that publication. I am so sorry to have missed this event, but glad to read about it here. With love, Suzi

I want to thank everyone for coming. It was a large and very interesting and intelligent group. I hope all aspiring writers will take a minute and decide why they want to be writers: do you like to write? Do you think that through writing you will get rich or famous? Is it a way to make a name in your field? The reason matters. Best wishes to all of you Carole Owens

I am a part-time resident of Berkshire County. As I am still in Florida, I couldn't take advantage of the festival. However, as a writer, I would like to know if you have any on-going activities, or resources that a writer could use.

Congratulations to these gifted writers !

But to the fact that the submission's deadline was extended for a month ... I cannot help but wondering about the fairness of a process that penalized the early entries pressed by a deadline ...

Thank You James for so eloquently articulating the evening. It's wonderful to hear a male perspective. The stories were rich and dynamic reaching into the hearts and experiences of each person in the room... I have no doubt even the baby was feeling it :)

I felt so lucky being in the company of these wonderful writers, and a most generous, appreciative audience and, last but not least, to have been there because of beloved Sonia, the world's best, most exciting and fabulous teacher one could dream of. My first first writing teacher was Michael Gizzi, the poet, and if you knew him, you might understand why I compare him to Sonia. Both of them possessing great passion for their work, devotion to their students and their stunning, radiant beauty.

It was a great crowd--friendly, alert, involved--and this article really caputres the tone of the event. When "women of a certain age" provoke this much positive attention, it's a good sign for the culture.
